Tyson Lawsuit Settlement Approved
A Delaware chancery judge on Tuesday approved a settlement that Tyson Foods Inc. shareholders reached in January with former CEO Don Tyson and his family-led group of investors.
The settlement requires Don Tyson and Tyson Limited Partnership, which holds a controlling stake in the world's largest meat processor, to pay Tyson Foods $4.5 million. Under terms of the settlement, all claims against the defendants will be dismissed.
The Springdale, Ark.-based company also will amend certain governance measures. (See Tyson family to pay $4.5 million in lawsuit settlement on Meatingplace.com, Jan. 21, 2008.)
