The Arkansas Cattlemen's Leadership Course (ACLC) formerly YCLC is an ACA program that began in 2011.

ACLC was created to educate future leaders by giving them hands-on experience with legislative sessions, commerce, commodities, media and PR, as well as various segments of the beef industry. Participants not only gain invaluable knowledge, resources and networking connections, but they also become more prepared to lead the cattlemen of Arkansas toward economic success.

We are now accepting applications for the ACLC. Selected applicants are expected to attend all four sessions as well as the graduation. Most of these sessions will be two-day, one-night events held during the week with the exception of graduation which is a Saturday in December.

Each year the ACA receives well-qualified applicants, from which they select approximately 20 as members of the class for that year. If you would like more information, please contact the ACA staff at 501-224-2114.

The deadline for the 2022 application is December 20, 2021.

Forms can be scanned and emailed to michelle@arbeef.org or printed and mailed to

From YCLC to ACLC

"In regards to the name change from the Young Cattlemen's Leadership Class to the Arkansas Cattlemen's Leadership Course - the one constant in life is change. We, as the committee that oversees the program, desired a more profound tie to the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association in the title and we also wanted to shift the perception of future applicants by eliminating the word young from the title. The mission of the course will be the same as it has for years; promoting and educating the next leaders of our great industry, particularly inside the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association."

- Phillip DeSalvo, Chairman of the committee
