March Roundup: Bringing Producers Together and Moving ACA Forward

March is always one of the most important months for the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association, and this year it delivered in a big way. From strong turnout across the state at Area Conferences to recognizing leaders in Arkansas agriculture and taking an exciting step forward with a new office, March showcased the strength and momentum of our membership.

Here’s a look back at what ACA accomplished this month.

Area Conferences: Record Attendance

March means Area Conference season, and once again, our members showed up in a big way.

Thousands of cattle producers gathered across all nine areas to connect, learn, and engage with ACA leadership. These meetings remain one of the most important ways we stay grounded in what’s happening at the county level while sharing updates from Little Rock and Washington.

This year’s conferences featured strong producer panels, legislative updates, and valuable conversations around profitability and management. We are especially grateful to our presenting sponsor, Watkins Cattle Company, for supporting these events and helping us deliver a high-quality experience across the state.

Just as important as the programming were the conversations happening before and after the meetings. From visiting with neighbors to connecting with vendors and industry partners, Area Conferences continue to strengthen the network that makes ACA effective.

Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame: Honoring John Paul Pendergrass

March also brought an opportunity to celebrate one of Arkansas’s agricultural leaders.

Congratulations to John Paul Pendergrass on his recent induction into the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame. His lifelong commitment to agriculture, leadership, and service has left a lasting impact on the cattle industry and rural communities across our state.

From his work in production agriculture to his leadership within industry organizations, John Paul has consistently been a voice for Arkansas farmers and ranchers. His recognition reflects not only his individual contributions but also the strength of multi-generational involvement in agriculture, following in the footsteps of his father, John Frank Pendergrass.

We are proud to celebrate leaders like John Paul who represent the very best of Arkansas agriculture.

A New Chapter: ACA Office Move

March also marked an exciting step forward for the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association as we officially began the process of relocating our office to 301 S Victory Street in Little Rock.

Our board was enthusiastic about this location, particularly because of its proximity to the State Capitol. As a grassroots organization that advocates for Arkansas cattle producers, having a visible presence in that area strengthens our ability to represent and serve our members effectively.

This move positions ACA for the future. It allows us to be closer to where key decisions are made while continuing to provide the same level of service our members expect. Our phone number and day-to-day operations remain the same as we complete the transition.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the spring, ACA remains focused on what matters most: advocating for cattle producers, delivering meaningful education, and developing the next generation of leaders.

March is a reminder of what this organization does best. We bring people together, we elevate the voice of Arkansas cattle producers, and we continue building a stronger future for the industry.

Thank you for your membership and for being part of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association.
